In terms of aesthetics in cycling apparel, there are two brands head and shoulders above the competition. For shoes, UK-based QUOC leads the charge, cutting through a sea of uninspired copy-and-paste designs with its fresh approach to on-the-bike footwear. And on the apparel side, Australian label MAAP stands out in the crowd with it's slick branding, quirky (yet tasteful) colour palette and unwavering commitment to performance. This is why we were excited when we first heard whispers of a potential MAAP x QUOC collaborative project brewing a little while back. And now the first instalment is here, in the shape of one of the best-looking cycling shoes we've ever laid eyes on.

What you're looking at is a rework of QUOC’s flagship off-road shoe with MAAP’s design language woven through it. The result is a subtle but smart update: same trusted performance, now finished in a misty 'Fog' colourway to match MAAP’s Alt_Road™ range. Add in a ribbed tongue, a branded heel pull, and a few extra ventilation holes, and you've got something that looks every bit as good as it rides.

Under the bonnet, nothing dramatic has changed. The carbon composite sole still delivers on stiffness. The tread still grips. And QUOC’s proprietary dual-dial closure system still gets the fit right every time. It’s light, tough, comfortable and built to last – all the things a good off-road shoe should be.

The difference here is how stylishly it does the job. For gravel, commuting, bikepacking – or whatever version of off-road you’re into – it has you covered, and it doesn’t look out of place once the riding’s done.

Available now from MAAP, QUOC and select retailers. £250 gets you the lot.
